Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with members of the interdisciplinary team, patients and families in a dynamic health care setting. Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload to keep pace in a busy multi-disciplinary patient care. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the values of AHS – Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Safety.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in a large urban acute care centre within the past 5 years is preferred. Previous experience in medical social work is an asset. Recent experience working with patients/families facing chronic illness is an asset.
