Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse program. Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) Certificate. Registered with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate of a community college or university in a related health care field (RRT, RN, etc.) Current BCLS. Working knowledge of cardiovascular, respiratory, and sleep anatomy and physiology required. Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs. Proven advanced problem-solving abilities. Strong patient assessment and communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment. Proven ability to interact positively and in a professional manner with staff, physicians, patients, and other visitors to the Sleep Laboratory. Extensive knowledge of all types of sleep disorders and their relevance to patient population. Proven ability to identify sleep disorders through the analysis of the sleep study. Extensive knowledge of medications commonly used in this patient population and their effect on sleep. Expertise in titrations of CPAP, BiPAP, ASV, and Oxygen.
