Your Opportunity:

Come join our dynamic team at Oilfields Hospital in Diamond Valley, a vibrant and exceptionally supportive hospital and community. The hospital has 15 acute care beds, a busy emergency department and 30 bed long term care unit as well as multiple other departments such as public health, home care, lab, DI, OT, PT, dietary, etc. Diamond Valley is just 30 km south of Calgary, which provides the best of both worlds with access to the amenities of the city while experiencing the advantages of small-town living near many outdoor activities including fishing, hiking and camping.

Description:

Reporting to the Director, the Site Manager is accountable for leading the day-to-day operations of the Oilfields Hospital, which includes the emergency department, 15-bed acute care unit, 30-bed long-term care unit, the recreation therapy department, social work, and spiritual care. The Site Manager is responsible for the leadership, management and disposition of resources for these clinical areas including planning, organizing, supervising, directing, and evaluating the delivery of quality resident/patient and family centered care. The position is responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the community and rural health portfolio in the Calgary Zone. Site management duties include ensuring that processes and issues related to areas such as WHS, IP&C, Disaster planning, space planning, Staff Flu immunizations, etc. are addressed, along with strategic planning, identifying, and responding to community and operational needs, establishing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, program development and evolution, promotion of programs and management of associated change processes. The Site Manager will foster and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) and works collaboratively with these partners to ensure the integration of health services. This position is the primary point of contact for staff, patients, families and the public for site specific care delivery processes and concerns. It is expected that the Site Manager will actively participate as a member of leadership teams in the service area and in the portfolio.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of a master's degree in a health-related field or a bachelor’s degree with several years of relevant clinical and leadership experience. Progressive leadership experience in health care including 5 years’ experience in a leadership or management role in health care. Active membership in an applicable professional association. Experience working in rural health within the last 5 years.

Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire other to achieve common goals. Proven ability to foster partnerships and strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet community’s health care needs and achieve organizational goals. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within a clinical operational environment. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.


Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills. Ability to identify, plan, and implement quality improvement projects and deliver customer-focused results. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with communities, public agencies, government, committees and other partners. Solid understanding of rural health and generalist practice.
