Your Opportunity:

This position offers an opportunity to work within a new state of the art healthcare facility in High Prairie, Alberta. Opened in 2017, the facility has 30 acute care beds, obstetrics and surgical programs, emergency and outpatient departments, lab, DI, pharmacy and co-located Primary Care, Public Health, Indigenous Health, Addiction and Mental Health and Allied Health Services. JB Wood Continuing Care Centre attached to health complex has 67 beds. The opportunity exists for the right candidate to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and staff. High Prairie, in northern Alberta’s Big Lakes County is known as the “Gateway to the Mighty Peace Country”. Description:

The Site Manager is a key leadership role in the North Zone Clinical Operations and reports directly to the Director, Clinical Operations. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization of site services within designated hospital(s) in the North Zone. This work will be accomplished through planning, delivery and evaluating health services within assigned hospitals, in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. Responsibilities will include making key decisions regarding the integration of various resources to ensure effective delivery of health services within hospital/site. This position will also be accountable for providing leadership in establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of Clinical Operations within the North Zone. The Site Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to provide leadership to Clinical Operations within the North Zone. The Site Manager is also responsible for: Implementation, operational management, and monitoring of integrated acute care services within site. Assessing, planning, directing and evaluating the operations and activities of the site within established policies, guidelines, and regulations. Participating in the budget process and monitoring financial position of the site through variance report analysis. Providing support and counsel to the Director, Clinical Operations - North Zone and management team on all aspects of related services within designated geographic area.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years in a management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment.


Additional Required Qualifications:

In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment, including experience in a management role in health service operations. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of legislation and regulation related to Healthcare. Knowledge of unionized work environments/union collective agreements. Knowledge of Protection for Persons in Care Act. Healthcare experience an asset. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
