Service Worker I - Emergency
Your Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Service Worker I to work at the level 1 Trauma Centre at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta. FMC Emergency supports a wide variety of patients throughout the city of Calgary and surrounding areas. The Service Worker will be responsible for the stocking of supplies, laundry, cleaning of equipment in a fast paced, high demand environment. The Service Worker I will work as a member of a team comprised of nurses, HCAs, and physicians for assessment and care of vulnerable neonates.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to understand, speak, and write in English required. Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving ability required. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment while upholding AHS CARES values required. Must be able to perform repetitive physical duties that include walking long distances, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching, assisting with patient transfers and other duties related to the Service Worker I role.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a hospital setting within the last year preferred.
