Service Worker I
Your Opportunity:
This positions successful candidate will be working with an elderly population of patients in Chinook Regional Hospital on Unit 5A. This units care ranges from medical geriatric care, rehabilitation to acute behavioral care for those diagnosed with Dementia. Unit 5A is a secured setting. There is a Dining Room as communal space. Our census is between 26 to 28 patients. There are RN's, LPN's, Health Care Aids, Unit Clerks on our team, including Social Work, and Rehabilitation team members (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Therapy Assistants, Recreation Therapist, Recreation Therapy Assistance). Service Workers help deliver patient meals in Dining Room and rooms, assist with packages, and offer meal time support. Delivering ice water, assisting with unit laundry and guiding patients and families are among duties of Unit 5A's Service Worker. Assistance with stock, cleaning Dining Room and helping maintain an organized environment will also be required.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:NVCI. volunteer experience. Food safety training. Safety Hub course certificate- Safety Data Sheets, SDS. Multilingual.
