Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Project Management (Building Construction) or a Technology Diploma in Architecture, Building or Engineering equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
10 years in a construction project management role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Proven ability to manage, mentor, motivate and lead team members and stakeholders. Experience with the management of professional and/or unionized staff. Knowledge of construction I project management concepts, methods and practices. Knowledge of applicable provincial, regional and municipal bylaws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures. Knowledge of construction contract law and procurement rules, regulations and requirements Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills including facilitation and presentation skills. Proven capacity to work well under pressure. Excellent analytical reasoning and problem solving skills. Demonstrated knowledge of computerized project management and engineering programs. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional software. Capacity to achieve organizational goals and project management objectives such as budgets, schedules and service delivery requirements. Ability to read and interpret construction documentation and contracts. Practical experience in strategy, policy development, leadership and project and program management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Management and Leadership courses. Technical and Project Management courses related to building infrastructure. Planning and project management of heath care projects within a fully operating Acute Care facility. Experience working with and/or managing external consultants, contractors, government agencies and regulators. A member in good standing with the AAA, APEGGA, ASET or PMP designation associated in the Building Infrastructure Industry. Familiarity with the Alberta Heath Services regions.
