Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, health care administration, science, engineering, business, leadership or a related discipline. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a WHS environment with at least five years in a senior management role, in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Successful leadership achievement with oversight and prioritization of diverse portfolios and projects; providing long-term quality services and achieving organization goals; and improving service delivery, managing change, and creating innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Experience working in a large and diverse unionized organization and proven ability to forge strong relationships with union partners. Ability to work at all levels from frontline to board of directors, experience working at board level and knowledge of governance structure and framework. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation, build, and maintain collegial relationships with stakeholders, public agencies, government, boards, committees and other partners. Demonstrated ability with decision-making, moving initiatives forward, coaching and inspiring teams. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred. Certification in Occupational Health & Safety or other related discipline. CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation. Health care or public sector experience. Possess strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Worker’s Compensation legislation and regulations. A combination of relevant experience and education will be considered.
