A minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in a planning role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is required. A demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development is important.
Additional Required Qualifications:In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Significant experience leading senior-level teams. High level information synthesis, and the skill to develop reports to summarize the analysis, interpretation and recommended actions. Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects and managing competing time-lines. A solid understanding of strategic and integrated service planning, as well as the ability to lead others in the development of such plans, to support AHS’ mission, goals, and values. Ability to handle complex issues and difficult situations. Proven abilities in negotiation, facilitation, conflict resolution and project management are required. Experience in developing strong working relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior leaders by presenting detailed plans, analysis, methods and findings in clinical/business- and user-friendly language. Skill in balancing diverse and sometimes conflicting stakeholder interests. Strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications. Leadership skills, including the demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
Preferred Qualifications:A Master’s degree preferred (in business or health administration or a related discipline). Strategic and health services planning, system design or project management methodology training is an asset. Healthcare experience a definite asset. Equivalencies of education and experience may also be considered.
