Required Qualifications:

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) certification in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (or comparable training and/or experience). Licensed (or eligible for licensure) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Experience in public health clinical practice within the last 3 years. A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in leadership within a public healthcare system of significant size and complexity, demonstrated experience of operating successfully in complex clinical and administrative environments and experience working within multidisciplinary teams. Current Canadian Medical Protective Association Coverage.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience of working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders within an organization as well as external stakeholders. Experience of having lead accountability for communicating with health ministries, media, and the public regarding public health initiatives, outbreaks, or investigations. Experience and skills in fostering innovation through research or academic endeavours.


Preferred Qualifications:

Post graduate degree in public health administration or leadership. Experience leading population, public, or Indigenous health programs in an organization of significant size and complexity. Demonstrates effective leadership and communication skills, and an ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and team-orientated environment. Possesses a strong track record of excellent working relationships with co-workers, academic accomplishments, and evidence of ongoing continuing education.
