The Business Advisory Services (BAS) Department in Finance is focused on providing value driven solutions founded on service excellence. BAS is committed to providing sound financial advice in all financial matters to Health Shared Services Senior Leaders and Managers. Under the general direction of the Manager, Business Advisory Services, IT Projects, this position is responsible for a variety of customer support duties as a member of the Business Advisory Services team. This position is specifically to support the IT Project needs and requires knowledge around capitalization criteria. Primary responsibilities include: performing routine financial analysis including preparation, analysis and reporting of financial information in accordance with general accounting practices (including capitalization policies), processes, controls and HSS policies and procedures. Your responsibilities include month end and year end activities, reconciliation of multiple accounts, project support and business support to IT Project Management. This posting may be used to fill three openings.
Description:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial and statistical analysis and reports, along with providing interpretation of analyses and reports to support business and external requirements. Your work will be focused on budgets, forecasting, recommendations for program and/or cost efficiencies and development or enhancements to processes and controls. In addition, you will coordinate and monitor progress of financial projects, as well as coach and guide other department staff such as Financial Analysts.

Post secondary degree specializing in accounting or related field (e.g. economics, statistics).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of four (4) years of accounting or financial experience. Intermediate MS Excel skills. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to think and act strategically and systematically. Work with minimum supervision. Ability to meet defined deadlines. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
Preferred Qualifications:Working towards or completion of a professional accounting/ finance designation or MBA. Financial experience in a Health Care environment. Strong working knowledge of Oracle & Hyperion applications, including OPC. Experience providing financial advice to leadership positions.
