Self-directed professional who demonstrates initiative & works with a high level of independence. Apply critical and systems thinking to identify, lead and complete complex projects as well as develop evidence-informed solutions -informed by data analysis, literature & quality assurance practices. Strong communication skills, including proficiency in literature reviews and report writing. Process oriented, focused on achieving high quality outcomes. Effective time management, with proven ability to navigate competing priorities and complex partnerships while meeting timelines and deliverables. Strong relationships with community-based organizations & partners including Recovery Alberta & other departments within Primary Care Alberta (PCA) are essential to this position. Collaborate closely with partners to ensure health promotion principles are integrated into both new and existing Edmonton specific initiatives while recognizing local strengths, unique challenges, and opportunities.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of a master’s degree in health promotion, public or population health, health education or a related field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in health promotion, disease prevention and/or addiction and mental health with demonstrated expertise. Experience in completing literature reviews and environmental scans to identify emerging trends that inform and advance best practices and contribute to key messaging. Skilled in developing impactful programming and high-quality deliverables (e.g., reports, work plans, presentations, briefs). Demonstrated ability to identify best format and/or technology to convey messaging/ health information to partners and target populations. Extensive experience developing and managing complex initiatives with the ability to be flexible and work independently in a dynamic and changing environment. Experience in project management and associated methods, approaches and tools. Demonstrated history of creating environments of collaboration and cooperation, fostering consensus and building capacity. As well as, promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion through informed, intentional practice. Experience with mentoring and coaching to full-scope professionals and other staff. Working knowledge of Alberta’s health care system including relevant RA and PCA programs across the continuum of care. Knowledge of the resources that serve equity denied populations in Edmonton Area.
Preferred Qualifications:Skills in navigating and analyzing surveillance dashboards, interpreting public health data and generating insights. Proficiency in Microsoft office tools, including Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Power BI and Sharepoint. Familiarity with Tableau for data visualization with the ability to interpret, visualize and communicate data trends to diverse audiences.
