Five years in a professional clinical role. Registered medical professional. Excellent interpersonal communication, business writing and editing skills; excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, etc. (e.g., Word, Excel, PDF). Experience with medical devices in clinical settings or research. Demonstrated critical thinking skills; independent problem-solving, creativity and defensible judgement to solve unique problems. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. Experience reporting/handling clinical adverse events. Experience with medical supply chain. Familiarity with medical device life cycle, regulations, & risk management.
Additional Qualifications:
Establishes and cultivates communication network of support to facilitate information-gathering, risk-benefit assessment, and informed decision-making. Strong interpersonal skills to engage and work with front line staff, various work groups, and leaders across AHS, as well as externally, e.g., vendors and Health Canada. Flexible, proactive and able to work under pressure. Comfortable working in and contributing to a small team environment (e.g., open communication, supportive of team productivity, equitable coverage for team members), as well as independently managing one's own workload. Excellent planning, organizational and prioritizing skills, including repeated re-prioritizations in the face of incoming, new high-risk matters.
Preferred Qualifications:
Related advanced clinical degree or post-grad education, e.g., Patient Safety, Medical Device Quality, HTA, Health Care Administration, Business. Ten years in healthcare; role(s) that included complex interactions between medical devices, patients and caregivers. Experience managing medical device problems and adverse events. Performance measurement & improvement experience. Systems approach to event investigation, process improvement, change management. Risk assessment/management experience.
