We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Finance team at Assisted Living Alberta (ALA). ALA plays a key role in integrating continuing care, home care, community care, and social services to create a more connected and patient-centered system across the province. Our work ensures Albertans can access the care they need, when and where they need it, while supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, and vulnerable populations to maintain independence and quality of life. As ALA continues to evolve, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping financial planning, budgeting, and reporting practices within a dynamic environment. The Senior Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the annual budget process and broader financial planning activities across the organization. This position requires a strong foundation in financial analysis, along with the ability to take initiative, navigate evolving priorities, and develop approaches where structure may still be maturing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical expertise in Excel who can work effectively both independently and in collaboration with partners across the organization.

Please enter information in this field.As a Senior Analyst, you will support all aspects of the budgeting and financial reporting processes. This includes, but is not limited to, validating and reconciling budget information, assessing the financial implications of planning decisions, supporting the development of budget processes, and providing analysis, reporting, and advice to internal and external partners. This position is a key member of the Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting team and contributes to overall Financial Planning objectives by ensuring that budget-related information is reliable, complete, and accurate. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities: Support scenario planning for multi-year operating and capital budgets and forecasts. Assist in preparing budgeted financial statements and related reporting. Support preparation of budget and forecast submissions to Government. Assist in the development and refinement of budgeting and reporting processes. Validate and reconcile financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Provide analysis and advice to support decision-making. Contribute to internal and external reporting requirements. Respond to ad hoc requests from Finance leadership and Executive teams. Build strong, collaborative relationships across the organization. Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, financial planning, or financial advisory roles. Direct experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve problems with limited direction. Proven ability to work effectively in an environment with evolving processes and priorities. Experience developing or improving financial models, analysis, or processes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights. High level of initiative and ability to work independently while managing competing priorities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams. Ability to apply sound judgment when working with incomplete information. Strong time management and organizational skills. Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications, particularly Excel. Commitment to contributing positively within a team environment and supporting shared goals.


Preferred Qualifications:

Professional accounting/finance designation (CPA) or MBA (completed or in progress). Experience with Hyperion, Oracle GL, or similar systems. Experience working in large, complex, or public sector organizations. Experience providing financial advice to leadership.
