If so, we invite you to join us as a Senior Analyst on our dedicated Surveillance & Reporting (S&R) team within the Cancer Advanced Analytics. The S&R team plays a vital role in enhancing cancer care across Alberta by delivering critical insights that inform effective cancer control strategies and improve patient outcomes. In this role, you will be embedded within a diverse group of analysts, senior analysts, programmers, biostatisticians, and epidemiologists. Together, you will develop and implement analyses that drive evidence-based decision-making and enhance cancer care for Albertans.
Description:
As a Senior Analyst, your responsibilities will include conducting thorough analyses, interpreting findings, and reporting on cancer data. With your strong communication skills, you will provide technical, statistical, and epidemiological expertise to address complex queries from stakeholders at all levels of the organization. You will determine appropriate methodologies, manage diverse data types and sources, and present your findings through custom Tableau dashboards.

Master’s Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics or Epidemiology with 5 years of applicable experience. 3-5 years' experience with health administrative databases. Proficiency in SQL (MS, Oracle), Python, R or similar database management or statistical tools. Proven expertise in statistical analysis of complex and large datasets. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders. Proven experience with change management within a professional setting.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of three years managing multiple concurrent projects and meeting deadlines. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Access) and capability to quickly learn new software packages. Strong organizational skills and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:2-3 years' experience presenting technical information through Tableau dashboards. Project management and data management experience would be considered an asset.
