Master’s education with a strong quantitative component in a related field, e.g., community health sciences, health economics, bio-statistics, epidemiology, quality assurance, or a combination of education and several years of equivalent experience in a healthcare or academic environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:8 years experience working with spreadsheets, large databases and tools for querying, integrating, analyzing, interpreting, reporting and disseminating data. Ability to write complex SQL queries, understand database architecture and optimize queries for performance. Ability to clean and preprocess data to remove inconsistencies and errors, including data transformation, data normalization, and data aggregation. Good understanding of statistical analysis and ability to use statistical techniques and software (SAS, STATA, etc.) Expertise in data collection tools, sampling and analysis methods, e.g., Oracle SQL or other comparable database query and report writing experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access) and Tableau. Ability to foster relationships, work collaboratively and to develop partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as a team member in a multi-stakeholder provincial environment that includes operational and medical leaders, front line clinicians, patient/family advisors, researchers and others. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Must abide by the highest standards of confidentiality and have a sound understanding of the principles within Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Health Information Act.
Preferred Qualifications:Analytics experience in a healthcare, particularly critical care. English proficiency; ability to explain complex analyses, methods and findings in clear language. Ability to apply big data analytic techniques, eg, data mining, machine learning, statistical modelling. Proficiency/experience with: Data visualization tools. Alteryx/other data platform tools. Python/python libraries, eg, Pandas, Scikit-learn. Snowflake/other cloud databases. Epic Clarity/other Cogito tools. Project management.
