A minimum of three (3) years of experience in internal audit within a large organization, post designation; A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; and a professional certification such as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Audit and Assurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk assessment, internal controls, and assurance processes. This includes knowledge of relevant auditing standards, regulations, and best practices. Risk Management: Ability to assess and prioritize risks within an organization, considering both entity and operational aspects. This involves evaluating the potential impact of risks and developing test plans to mitigate them. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for presenting findings, observations, and recommendations clearly and effectively to various stakeholders, both technical and non-technical. Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in reviewing documents, processes, and records to identify even minor discrepancies or irregularities that may have a significant impact. Ethical Judgement: Adherence to high ethical standards and the ability to make fair and impartial decisions, especially when encountering ethical dilemmas during audits. Internal Controls: Demonstrated understanding of internal control frameworks and the ability to assess control effectiveness. Data Analytics: Proficiency in using data analytics tools and techniques to analyze and interpret large datasets.
Preferred Qualifications:
Sound knowledge of the industry's regulatory environment, compliance standards, and best practices. Working knowledge of Human Resource (HR) functions including: payroll, pension and benefits, HR administration, recruitment, leave of absence, etc.
