Senior Advisor - Clinical Liaison
Your Opportunity:
The Clinical Liaison is a professional position in the Alberta Health Services’ (AHS) Contracting, Procurement and Supply Management (CPSM) Department. This position oversees the engagement for strategic provincial contracting initiatives as well as zone-based clinical issues that arise with significant clinical complexity. Please note that there are two new positions available on the Clinical Services team being posted concurrently; it is appreciated if candidates only apply to one posting as the submissions will be pooled for joint consideration.
Description:
The Clinical Liaison acts as a subject matter expert to develop and execute customized comprehensive engagement plans and specialized content material necessary for clinical stakeholders at various levels to make recommendations and decisions on projects, programs, and implementations. Each work product this individual is required to produce is expected to be of high quality and must resonate with the target audience. There must be a holistic perspective and attention to detail, as the consequences of decision-making will significantly impact budgets, clinical quality outcomes, and patient safety. Multi-level committee leadership is required, and relationship management is crucial. Timely, accurate, transparent, and sustainable decision-making is key to supporting essential patient care services. Honed facilitation and negotiation skills as well as the ability to navigate through demanding situations successfully with clinicians and AHS leadership will yield the most optimal solutions possible. Where necessary, a component of this involves leading clinical leaders and educators in determining education and training needs, requirements, and execution. The Clinical Liaison is expected to act as a steward of quality and safety across all facets of the role, in accordance with AHS policies and practices, industry best-practices, and applicable legislation (i.e. The Health Quality Council of Alberta, Health Canada, World Health Organization, etc.). Thus, the Clinical Liaison represents CPSM in various AHS Zone and Provincial Committees and speaks on behalf of AHS in Canada-wide supply chain committees.
