Bachelor's Degree. Law (LLB/JD) or Business (B. Comm, Human Resources focus)
Additional Required Qualifications:
At least 5 years' Experience in a legal advisory or human resources advisory role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective presentation skills. Client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality service. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills with a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving. Skill in balancing diverse, and sometimes conflicting, stakeholder interests. Expertise with best practices regarding workplace investigations. Ability to deal with highly complex, confidential, and sensitive issues in a professional and timely manner. Ability to explain complex issues or difficult situations and distill information into easy-to-understand terms. Demonstrated ability to adapt to change. Self-directed team player. Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Zoom. Familiarity with SharePoint. The applicant will be required to provide three writing samples (not generated by ChatGPT or similar) for situations where they have provided a client with advice regarding the interpretation and application of a workplace policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPHR. Sound understanding of AHS’ structure, programs, policies, and procedures. Familiarity with provision of advisory services in unionized setting. This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta and is eligible for remote/hybrid work under the AHS Remote-Hybrid Work Arrangement Strategy.
