Your Opportunity:

This position will provide support to clinical research in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, ranging from in-house investigator research to industry sponsored research. Under the direction of the principal investigator this position is diverse and complex, with some standard procedures and day-to-day research operations, procedures and protocols, as well as the development of new procedures and techniques, and independent problem solving. This position is responsible for coordinating various Investigator initiated and industry sponsored research studies, therefore work is done with minimal supervision. This role conducts screening and recruitment of potential study participants; including obtaining consent, performs study specific assessments pre- and post-operatively as required/appropriate This person will work collaboratively with the principal investigator/PCM for fiscal management of studies including budget, invoicing.

Description:

As a Research I, you will be working with research teams which are generating and disseminating new knowledge that assists with advancing the understanding of health disciplines and various health and medical concerns. Working under the guidance of the principal investigator, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting research documents, collecting and reviewing a variety of information related to the study, and monitoring study compliance. You will also assist with the recruitment of study participants and initiate consenting of study and/or trial participants and may complete lab work to support research activities.

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in a health or science related field. Registration with applicable professional association or college where required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2-3 years' experience with clinical trials. Completion of Society of Clinical Research Associate (SOCRA) certification required. Health Canada Good Clinical Practice and Division - 5 Certification required. Completion of NACTRAC research coordinator course required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Formal academic training with a graduate degree (MSc or PhD) would be considered an asset.
