Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent community experience with ISFL, Home Care or Transition Services. Recent Medical/Surgical Nursing experience. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, organizational, and critical thinking and assessment skills. Understands and is able to apply case management principles as it relates to the transition of clients through the continuum of care. Demonstrated critical thinking, organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work with fixed deadlines, cope with frequent interruptions and changes. Ability to work in a fast paced department that is variable, unpredictable and has competing priorities. Physically able to lift, bend, sit, squat, throughout shift and able walk a minimum of 3 kms per shift including stairs while carrying or pulling resource materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Able to perform physical requirements such as being on one’s feet for an extended period (walking and standing). Must be able to provide physical assistance to clients in an acute care setting and physically able to intervene to ensure client safety. Required to perform up to 6 hours of keyboarding and written documentation per shift. Strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience with transition services is preferred. 1-2 years of experience in community and 1-2 years of experience in acute care is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of community resources preferred. Experience with Strata Health, Connect Care software programs are preferred.
