Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:1 year (in the last 3 years) community experience (TS/homecare/ISFL). Physically able to walk 3-5 km daily; carry/lift/pull resource materials weighing up to 25 lbs; be on feet long periods; manage repetitive adjustment and exertion, including sitting/standing/bending. Physically able to manage long periods of both sedentary (sitting at desk) and active work; requirements vary based on demands of caseload. Must be able to provide physical assistance to clients in an acute care setting and physically able to intervene if required for client safety. Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, organization, assessment, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work with fixed deadlines, multi-task, cope with frequent interruptions and changes. Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations. Ability to work with a diverse client population, including clients with complex/challenging medical, mental health, social, and behavioral care needs. Able to perform up to 6 hours of keyboarding and written documentation per shift, navigate a variety of IT programs. Able to understand and apply case management principles as it relates to the transition of clients through the continuum of care. Demonstrated knowledge of community resources.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years med/surg nursing experience. Bachelors in nursing preferred, however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector considered.
