Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of five years acute care nursing experience including geriatric experience (within the last 3 years) is required. Successfully completed training and currently using Meditech, with RAI certification, and Pathways is required. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook is required. Effective time management and prioritization skills required. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to problem-solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is essential. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress, fluctuating priorities and time sensitive deadlines. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, or standing. Must be able to lift and carry 5-15 kg regularly. Must be able to assist with patient mobility as required for assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in home care, supportive living or facility living is preferred. A minimum of one year experience as a Transition Coordinator is required (equivalent experience may be considered). A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Acute Care Coordinator or Transition Coordinator is preferred.
