Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:3-5 years' experience working with a geriatric population. Awareness of hospital and community systems and resources. Community experience. Demonstrated ability to work on a team. Demonstrated flexibility in meeting the unexpected spontaneous needs of a clinical area. Demonstrated ongoing professional development. Demonstrated self-directedness in organizing work priorities. Excellent written and verbal skills. Knowledge of geriatric giants. Ability to lift charts and other documents; weight can be upwards of 10 lbs. Prolonged sitting - ability to sit for long periods of time when completing daily tasks. The successful candidate will need to be able to assist clients to transfer who have difficulties mobilizing.
Preferred Qualifications:Gerontological Nursing Certification.
