Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years recent nursing experience in an acute in-patient psychiatric setting required. Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques required. Knowledge of the Addiction and Mental Health related resources across the Calgary Zone required. Demonstrated leadership, organizational and clinical skills in addition to being self-directed and able to work collaboratively in a team environment required. Computer proficiency required.
Preferred Qualifications:Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) preferred. IV Certification preferred. Knowledge/Understanding of DSM-IV and 5 preferred.
