Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years’ experience in medical/surgical acute care, with preference given to those who also have experience working with Addiction & Mental Health populations. Possess a substantial understanding of addiction and recovery principles, in addition to an understanding of the harm and working with complex medical patients. Must have excellent assessment, documentation, organization, communication and team work skills. Must be experienced in medical nursing with a preference given to candidates who possess addiction and mental health experience as well. Must be an independent thinker with proven ability to problem solve and think critically within an interdisciplinary team environment. Provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team. Consistently provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with central lines, intravenous infusions, and critical care an asset.
