Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Strong understanding of health care systems, quality improvement and performance measurement methodology. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with exceptional communication skills and the ability to operate both independently and as a member of a team. Experience in intensive care nursing and/ or acute medical surgical experience within the last 5 years is required. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to set priorities, and to recognize and maintain confidential information. Demonstrated teaching/presentation experience and skills to health care professional and the public. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated critical thinking skills within scope of practice including clinical judgment and problem solving skills. Demonstrated initiative, high degree of flexibility and adaptability. Demonstrated mature and professional manner. Demonstrated basic computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in solid organ transplantation within the last 3 years is an asset. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited University preferred. Experience in the outpatient case management of pre and post-transplant patients in Kidney, Kidney Pancreas/and or Liver/ and or Lung/ and or Heart transplant care is an asset.
