Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Other recent nursing experience in maternal post postpartum and newborn assessment and care. NICU Pediatrics or Labor and Delivery. Ability to work in multiple settings (clinic, home, school and public). This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to be self-directed and to exercise independent nursing judgement. Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision making and organizational skills. Working knowledge of computer applications including basic word processing, email, internet access and date entry.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills & experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector will be considered. Experience in Public Health Nursing, Healthy Beginnings & Well Child Clinic in the last year. Knowledge of the Meditech program. Canadian Nursing Association Certificate in Community Health Nursing. International Board of Lactation Consultants certification. Recent experience immunizing infants, preschool and /or school aged children.
