Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent RN experience in an acute care facility required. Recent RN maternal-child experience required. Demonstrated motivation and ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team. Demonstrated effective communication skills. Demonstrated effective organizational skills. Demonstrated effective patient teaching/mentoring skills. Demonstrated skill in the principles of patient and family centered care. Demonstrated skill in working effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:More than 2 years experience working on a postpartum unit preferred. Consideration will be given to new grads who have completed their senior practicum on a postpartum unit and consideration will also be given to RNs who have maternal child experience. NRP certification preferred. Evidence of knowledge and skill related to infant nutrition and breastfeeding preferred. Charge nurse experience preferred.
