Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:*Not open to New Grads* 3 years of recent experience as an RN in Acute Inpatient Surgical Nursing experience is required (recent refers to experience in the last 3 years). Surgical Nursing such as Neuro, Trauma, General Surgery, and Ortho experience preferred (3 + years is required). 2 years recent (within the last 3 years) PACU/Critical Care experience preferred (PACU, ICU, or Emergency Room). Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to apply critical analysis in a critical environment that is constantly evolving. Proven ability to think quickly on your feet in a fast-paced environment, which can be stressful at times. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time at patient bedsides is required. Ability to move/reposition unresponsive patients in order to protect airways is required. Basic computer skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:CNA National PACU Certification preferred PACU Course preferred Adult nursing experience preferred ACLS highly recommended Basic APS (Acute Pain Service course) and experience with PCA, PCEA pumps preferred
