Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent PACU experience required (within last 2 years). Basic computer skills required. Basic APS Course (Acute Pain Service Course) experience with PCA, PCEA pumps required. Proven ability to apply critical analysis in a critical environment that is evolving constantly. Physical ability to move/position unresponsive patients for airway protection. Proven ability to think quickly on your feet in a fast-paced environment, which can be stressful at times. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time at patient bedsides is required.
Preferred Qualifications:PACU course. ACLS certification. 2 years recent (within last 2 years) surgical nursing experience in acute care surgical unit.
