Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current PACU experience (within the last 6 months) and/or completion of a PACU certificate program. Minimum of 2 years current PACU/Critical Care/ICU/Surgical experience is required (current refers to experience in the last 3 years). Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer skills are required. Proven ability to apply critical analysis in a critical environment that is evolving constantly. Proven ability to think on your feet in a fast-pasted environment and at times stressful environment. Ability to stand for long periods at patient’s bedside is required. Ability to move/reposition unresponsive patients in order to protect airways is required.
Preferred Qualifications:ACLS is preferred. PACU course is an asset.
