Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Certificate in or enrolled in approved NSWOC Nursing Education Program. Demonstrates effective organizational skills. Demonstrates clear communication skills both oral and written. Ability to make accurate phone assessments, interventions and appropriate follow-up and referrals. Demonstrates ability to be self-directed as well as effectively working and communicating within a team. Basic computer skills required. Recent and extensive experience working with complex wounds and ostomies. Minimum 5 years of acute inpatient surgical nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Nursing degree. Experience with patient and family teaching an asset. Experience with caring for acute general surgery oncology patients an asset. Demonstrates ability to be self-directed as well as effectively working and communicating within a team. Knowledge of Connect care.
