Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Heart and Stroke BLS-HCP certification. Proven ability to function in an acute care nursing unit within the last 2 years. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Critical thinking and problem solving solutions. Ability to contribute as a team member, learn within a dynamic environment and adapt/cope with change. Demonstrated excellent time management and organization skills. Ability to manage the job classification of “heavy physical demand” level as per the AHS Job Demands Summary.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency with SCM and clinical documentation standards. Willingness to participate in the research initiatives of Ward of the 21st Century.
