Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Qualifications:

Graduation from a recognized nursing education program. Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Current NRP certification an asset. Bachelor of Nursing Degree. Masters preparation an asset. Minimum 1 years recent experience in NICU or working with ill infants. Previous experience as a Lactation Consultant. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a strong Family Centered Care philosophy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is able to maintain good interpersonal and working relationships with all members of the health team. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, and work both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated change management skills, leadership skills, critical thinking and oral/written communication skills.
