Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Able to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary health care team. Demonstrated effective time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time. Able to lift, push, pull equipment, including, but not limited to stretchers and labor beds with patient. Able to participate in patient positioning and transfers.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous obstetrical nursing experience. Recent critical care, medical surgical, and/or Operating Room experience. Current NRP Certification. Current Fetal Health Surveillance Certification. Skill set in infant assessment, nutrition and feeding. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and risk management principles.
