Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:CRNA registration required and maintained throughout duration of employment. CPR - HCP level required. A minimum of 3 years recent (within last 5 years) cardiology experience required within the following departments; CICU, CVICU, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology Inpatient Ward, Cardiac Outpatient Department (Heart Function Clinic, Cardiac Specialty Clinic). Preference will be given to applicants with Outpatient Cardiac Clinic experience; preferably within a Heart Function Stabilization Clinic setting. Nurses are required to have a minimum of 2 years recent experience assessing, monitoring, and teaching adult patients with heart failure. Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and priority setting skills required. Demonstrated reliability required. Basic computer skills are required.
