Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum Three (3) years Community Psychiatric Nursing experience required. Minimum three (3) years acute In-patient Psychiatry experience required. Solid Knowledge of and experience working with the offender population required. Firm knowledge and experience working with corrections and the justice system required. Strong interpersonal communication skills, solid interviewing, assessment skills and report writing are a must. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention required. Prepared to work flexible hours.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in Mental Health nursing an asset. Experience with community partner engagement an asset. Community forensic nursing experience preferred. Experience in a forensic mental health setting (Community Forensics preferred). Experience providing therapy and psychosocial interventions an asset. Current working knowledge of NCR Legislation and Processes preferred.
