Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:1 year of Emergency experience and/or 2 years of medical/surgical experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Must provide a certificate of current Basic Life Support - Health Care Provider registration through Heart and Stroke AED Level C. Demonstrate excellent communication skills. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent nursing experience in a tertiary/urban centre. Recent critical care experience in the last 2 years. Must provide 3 of 6 certificates of the following prior to interview: ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, NRP, Certified Emergency Nurse (CAN or CNE) is an asset. Preference to those who can demonstrate excellent assessment skills, organizational skills, patient care skills, and leadership skills. Triage and/or charge nurse experience.
