Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent organizational and time management skills. Communication and assessment skills to work cooperatively and effectively with the healthcare team members, clients, and their families in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proven critical thinking and decision-making skills. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks. The successful candidate will work independently in clients’ homes, which could include congregate settings, single family dwellings, condos and/or walk-up apartments. Therefore, the successful candidate must be able to work in different settings and environments (home environments and weather conditions) as well as be able to lift and carry medical bags, which weigh approximately 25-30 lbs. At the time of interview, you may be required to demonstrate your computer knowledge and proficiency by completing a hands-on assessment. You must demonstrate sufficient typing speed to meet workload demand and navigate through various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook and Internet.

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Experience in Palliative Care. Experience in Meditech and Connect Care. Two years current nursing practice with one year in a Continuing Care based setting. Experience with complex clients including acute, chronic and end of life conditions. Experience with cardiac, IV therapy and wound care.
