Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:The successful candidate must be a registered nurse in good standing with CARNA. They will also need a minimum of 2 years of teletriage nursing experience with expertise in using decision support tools and navigating health information websites. Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal and conflict management skills, as well as organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are a must. The successful candidate will also have the ability to develop and communicate solutions/responses to internal and external stakeholder’s problems/requests. Previous experience in Quality Assurance is required. They will have the ability to act as a change agent and support clinical staff during times of transition, as well be able to effectively explore alternatives and positions to resolve conflicts and reach outcomes that support safe, high quality client care. Familiarity with adult learning principles and with coaching and teaching staff is required.
Preferred Qualifications:A baccalaureate degree in nursing is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office® products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel is preferred, as well as experience in formatting and editing clinical resource material with a keen attention to detail. A familiarity with searching for and evaluating best practice/best evidence resources and tools will be considered an asset.
