Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience in cardiac risk reduction, diabetes education, weight management, and lifestyle/behavior change across the life span. Community engagement experiences is essential. Alberta Health Services hires new graduate nurses with the required educational requirements as above.
Preferred Qualifications:Certified diabetes educator status desired. As well as experience in facilitating chronic disease management education sessions, utilizing health change and motivational interviewing skills, and supporting clients in both group and individual appointment settings. At least one year relevant nursing experience desired. Certified Diabetes Educator certification desired.
