Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of three years OR Booking / OR Booking related experience with a variety of surgical service specialties is required. Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience in an operating / procedural or surgical unit is required. Knowledge and skill with computer programs (VAX, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access) are required. Perform effectively in an environment with interruptions and/or distractions, with frequent workload changes and competing demands within established time frames is required. Must be able to work in a high-stress environment with multiple challenges is required. Strong process analysis, problem solving and decision making skills with attention to detail is required. Excellent communication skills required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively liaise with various professionals by providing clear, concise, accurate and timely information is required. The ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent time management skills. The ability to demonstrate conflict management. The ability to accurately collect and enter information in a timely manner. Must be able to communicate clearly to patients over the telephone. Preferred Qualifications:Maintenance and understanding of statistical information associated with Operating Room scheduling is preferred.
