Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Must demonstrate excellent assessment, organizational and patient care skills. Responsible to provide proof of active registration with the College and Associations of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) and to maintain registration throughout the duration of employment. Successfully pass the Stollery Pre-hire Interview Medication Administration Exam. Successfully pass the Stollery Medication Administration Exam with 90% or greater completed during orientation. Successfully pass the Stollery PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) course – completed during orientation. Must meet all organizational policy requirements for employment including COVID vaccination.
Preferred Qualifications:Due to the nature and acuity of the patients cared for within the Pediatric Cardiology Program, preference will be given to those with current certification in specialized clinical competencies including direct IV, cytotoxic administration, charge, VAD, ICE, care of trach/vent patients and peritoneal dialysis. Preference will be given to applicants with previous pediatric experience in an acute care setting and specifically pediatric Cardiology and/or GI experience.
