Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent experience in Labour/Delivery/Perioperative/ Antepartum and Newborn care required. Fetal Health Surveillance experience required. Basic computer skills and good communication skills required. Ability to work within a team environment and to effectively contribute to patient and family care planning processes. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Able to demonstrate ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to nursing practice in community sector will be considered. Current IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) Certification is an asset. Certification in a relevant specialty area, charge nurse experience, NRP, Electronic Monitoring and MoreOB certification is preferred. Experience in an Obstetrical operating room environment preferred.
