Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification: https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Acute care experience within the past 2 years. Must be able to perform repetitive physical duties that include walking long distances, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching, assisting with patient transfers and other duties related to patient care. Palliative/Oncology care experience (specific to dealing with change management and emotions of grief). Experience in pain management including advanced competencies such as CVC’s, PCA’s and Epidurals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Charge training and experience. Experience working with the elements of CoACT and collaborative care. Palliative certification and/or experience. Experience with caring for patients undergoing radioactive iodine treatment. Palliative, oncology care experience within the last 5 years. Experience in medical inpatient care within the past 2 years. Experience with Connect Care.
