Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/learning-and-development/learning-modules/ and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current Basic Life Support (BLS) - Health Care Provider Registration (Heart & Stroke) required. Applicant must demonstrate excellent assessment, documentation, clinical, organizational, and patient care skills. Applicant must have the ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner as well as strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice where knowledge deficits occur. The applicant must successfully complete the OPACCA program. Applicant must also successfully pass the CVICU Unit specific exam. Applicant must meet physical requirements of this role, including ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The applicant is responsible to maintain active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) throughout the duration of employment.
