Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience on an Acute Care Adult Medical Unit within the last 2 years is required or completion of Nursing Final Focus in ICU/CCU, Cardiology, Internal Medicine or a Unit with similar acuity is required. The RN will demonstrate an understanding and compliance with the AHS code of conduct. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment skills and sound nursing judgement. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. High functioning time management and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Experience in Acute Care Inpatient Cardiology Unit preferred. Current telemetry certification preferred. PVAD & CVAD Certification preferred. Experience with Chest Tube management preferred. Inpatient Connect Care proficiency preferred. Charge Nurse experience preferred. Experience with family centered care preferred. Collaborative practice approach and philosophy preferred. It’s Your Move Training. N95 Fit Test current.
