Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to meet physical elements of position including patient transfers. FHS, NRP, CTAS within 6 months of hire. IV initiation and infusion therapy certification or equivalent proof of competency. Communication skills including de-escalation, closed-loop communication and active listening. Demonstrates AHS Values in nursing practice. Experience using windows computers, Outlook, electronic medical record (EMR).
Preferred Qualifications:ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC or EPIC. Rural Nurse Connect Care Trained. RSI Training or airway management experience. Education/experience with breastfeeding support. 1 year experience labor and delivery, emergency or rural acute care in the last 3 years. Charge Nurse experience/training, incident command post experience/training.
