Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of recent Addiction and Mental Health Nursing experience. 2-5 years of acute medical/surgical experience. Strong skills in psychiatric assessments, mental status exams, suicide risk assessments. DSM V knowledge. Skilled in computer work. Active Certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI). Experience using Connect Care.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment. Ability to be self-directed; comfortable working autonomously. Strong time management and organizational skills; previous experience in working in demanding, multi-tasking work environment. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Adaptable with change management. Thorough understanding of the harm reduction model. Knowledge of AMH resources across the Calgary Zone.
